I almost feel like a Romanist.
With St. Herman's feast tomorrow and my planned attendance at the Thursday morning liturgy, God willing, I'll receive communion four times in one week. I almost feel like a Romanist. Due to the frequency of reception, I have of course shortened the rule, only attending vespers and saying the Order of Preparation rather than the prescribed additional three canons and an akathist.
Here is the troparion ["Praise Chorus"] to St. Herman of Alaska:
O Blessed Father Herman of Alaska
North Star of Christ's Holy Church
the light of your holy life and great deeds
guides those who follow the Orthodox way
together we lift high the holy Cross
you planted firmly in America
let all behold and glorify Jesus Christ
singing His holy resurrection.
It's got a beat you can dance to.
