Reading.

Reading these days: the post-Mosaic histories, in addition to the usual Gospels and Epistles. Today, by the way, is the Feast of the Holy Maccabean Martyrs and the beginning of the Dormition Fast. This means no wife-ing for me!

And then there are questions: what does it mean for us to say, "Bless the Lord, O my soul...", to proclaim, "Blessed is our God..." and "Blessed is the Kingdom..."? What is done in the Eucharist, what becomes of us? Why do the heathen rage? Why do people not hate death with all their might? Why do so few desire happiness? And why the hell hasn't my package arrived yet?
