picked up from the free pile at Powell's, among other things: Wheelock's grammar sans cover, Dan Brown's Digital Fortress. I could not resist picking it up. Another novel of his about something I know stuff about [computers and encryption algorithms], how surprised will I be when he blows it? Amusingly, his bit about the NSA going beyond its legal rights in order to prevent terrorist attacks seems almost prescient given that it was written in 1998, but then one remembers what 1998 was like. However, the prime example given was not the Musulmen, but liberalists. Also present so far: backhanded jabs at the Catholic Church.

And: ramen was 6/$ at Walgreens. Sizweet. Provisions for winter: obtained.
