I found out who that statue is that's by 35th and Lake Shore. It's Stephen A Douglas (of the Lincoln-Douglas debates), he's buried there, and there was a Civil War POW camp there. It was horrible. But anyways, isn't that wild? It just randomly came up in a conversation last night.
