catholic sex all day

I've been reading Catholic articles about sex all day. The most recent issue of Touchstone is all about it, after all. It's also been reminding me of how positively ugly any article about population - either Europe's decline in birth rates or the global population crisis - is compared to the theology. I think Flannery O'Connor says it best:
The Church's stand on birth control is the most absolutely spiritual of all her stands and with all of us being materialists at heart, there is little wonder that it causes unease. I wish various fathers would quit trying to defend it by saying that the world can support 40 billion. I will rejoice in the day when they say: This is right, whether we all rot on top of each other or not, dear children, as we certainly may. Either practice restraint or be prepared for crowding...
Also delightful are all the other articles by Juli Loesch Wiley. Marvellous line: “I love you, dearie, but you’ve got one God-given, healthy, holistic power that gives me a pain: fertility. So bag it. Fix it. Suppress it. And then I’ll sleep with you.”

I think I might have given up on silly contentless emo posts. Lost the energy. I also have the odd feeling that I might cut the beard. Perhaps not off, just a trim, but I have the technology for cutting it off and not for trimming. I'd rather be dead than just pretend I'm alive.
