Dubium: Whether I can eat my roommate's Sun Chips.

There is approximately one serving on Sun Chips left in a loosely rolled bag in the kitchen. He will not return for one week. I, in the purely altruistic interests of protecting our room from rats and roaches and the prevention of the waste of food, am concerned about whether it is licit to consume the Sun Chips. Dubium: Whether I can eat my roommate's Sun Chips and whether the Sun Chips would, in fact, go bad.

I only have the interests of my constituents in mind here! I only wish to protect my realm from the incursion of parasites or the horrible sin of waste.
